GHOSTS & HAUNTINGS

Bathroom Buddy

I have A ghost that lives in my bathroom. I have nicknamed him Alexander. He seems to stay in one place most of the time, as I have not observed him moving from the bathroom at anytime. He also is attracted to water somehow, and is most highly manifest when the shower is turned on. I can only feel his presence, but I am very aware that he is there because I have keenly developed empathic powers that allow me to "meld" with him. As I do this I've experienced thought patterns that seem to emanate from him, but usually nothing I can recognize. I did once have the impression that he said "So, you're wearing a disguise", which is apparentely meaningful, since ghosts are like us, only they have no body!

Old Man Ramsy

I live in southern Georgia, in a small country town called Boston. I have just recently moved into this 90 year old plantation house. I'm not really superstitious or believe in "ghosts" but a couple weeks ago I had an experience that has changed my perspective of things all together. It was a saturday evening, My wife had gone to her mother's house and I was alone that night. I was walking through the hallway of this large plantation house as I heard what I thought was the the front door shut. I turned around thinking it was my wife returning from her mother's, But no one was there. I went into the living room to see a faint shadow of a man sitting on the couch looking up at me. At first I wasn't startled, I asked him what did he want and then he vanished into the air. At that time the hair on the back of my neck stood up and I became frozen in horror. I got my senses together and ran out of the house to see my wife pull up at that time. I told her of my strange occurrence, but she told me I might have imagined it or had a vivid daydream or something, but I'll tell you it was real. Later I did some research and found out that an old man who was called "Old man Ramsy" built this house and died of a massive stroke eighty something years ago.

Seeing Double?

Here is a link to Doppleganger
This is a strange area and it really hasn't been investigated. But I am doing that now. It is not just the doppleganger, which is a ghost image, but this is showing that there are real life doubles that look exactly like people. I have had hundreds of responses. They are extremely unusual. The people who have experienced seeing their doubles and even talking with them, are very freaked out about it.

Did You See That?

My brother and his wife rented a small house on the grounds of an old plantation in Charles County, MD The owner of the house is very wealthy and was nice enough to let them rent it for very little. They had been married about three years and had 2 very young children. They were only about 20 years old when they moved in. Not to long after they moved in they started to hear and see strange but unobvious things. The house was probably used at one time for the farm help or even as slave quarters. At even this time where it was there were many things about outside, even cows and other farm animals. My sister-in-law and brother went to bed that night and my sister in law sat up in bed and glanced out the window. There was a figure looking in the window. She said she could see right into it's eyes. She let out a blood curdling scream that my brother (who is very skeptical) says will still make his hair stand up just to think about it. They went to visit the owner of the plantation house to tell her what happened. She told them it was okay, it happened to her all the time. She could go to her window in the morning and see children playing in the yard who were not actually there. She could hear women talking and shuffling dishes in the kitchen in the evening and there was never anyone there. She said up to that no one else would claim to have seen anything except her and her dog.

Legend Has It...

My wife and I attend a small university in West Texas in the very mountainous and arid part of the state approx- imately 80 miles north of Mexico. This part of the land was once inhabited by many native American people, the most recent being Lipan Apaches, who displaced the earlier, more docile nations who had been here before. The whole area is considered part of the "Apache Trail", the route south that they took as they raided the ranches in remote Mexico. The area has long been devoid of any native Amer- icans, but a recent experience has led us to believe that something of these people remains.

About a year ago, my wife was outside of the house, on a cold winter night. She glanced up at the house, and saw a white, cloudy image of a human, standing very still, close to the corner of the house. This figure appeared to be a man, by the general shape, but no features of any kind were evident. My wife silently stared at this figure for a few seconds, until it literaly blew away like smoke, drifting across the pasture in front of our house.

Just as that happened, the horses in the pasture spooked, and were quite noisy in their agitation. Our dogs, and those of our neighbors began to bark at the same time. At no time did my wife feel threatened or afraid, but it did startle her. This sighting has not occurred again since.

Another happening took place much more recently, only about three weeks ago. A friend and her two daughters, aged seven and three, were visiting with us. One morning, the seven year old asked us at the breakfast table if we had seen the Indians outside the night before. We asked her what she meant (we had not told any of them about the first sighting) and she said that she had awakened during the night, and outside she could see down into the yard where several Indians seemed to be dancing in the moonlight. She tried to describe their motions, and said that they "would move together, then dance away from each other." She said that they were "hopping and jumping, shaking their arms," and generally described what seems like a ritual type of dance.

My wife related this story to a folklore professor at the university, and he stated that the area west of town where we live has produced stories of ghostly Indians for many years, as this was at one time a meeting area and campsite for the local Indians.
